Harvey Sign was established in 1936 by Henry J. Harvey. Two of his sons, Don and Rick cut their first teeth at the shop, they have literally been working in the sign business since grade school. Their successful partnership, the combined talents and abilities of dedicated employees, and their overall dedication to the sign industry are some of their greatest assets.

About the Building

Harvey Sign's facility located at 30 Osgood Street, Methuen, MA in Methuen Square has recently been renovated with the help of Methuen's Historical Commision and has generated much interest in the building. The information below was obtained from The Center for Methuen History.

Date: 1872-1880
The architect was George Adams of Danvers and Lawrence. It was designed to be offices for the Methuen Company. It was described as being brick, two stories high, 40' x 24' and located at the north end of the storehouse. Store house #1 of the Methuen Company Storehouse and Office was constructed in two parts. The earliest and largest section appears after 1872 and before 1884 and is labeled store house #1 on the 1896 atlas map. The second part, at the north end nearest to Osgood Street, is labeled office on the 1885 Sanborn Insurance map and 1896 county atlas. Construction of this section of the building, was reported in the Methuen Transcript in 1880.
Date: 1950s-1960s
History: The A. B. Worthen Company were plumbing suppliers and were located in this building in the 1950s and 1960s and by 1950, Percy Nutton was listed as president of the company.
Date: 1980s
In the 1980s, it was the home of the Wolverine Manufacturing Company.
Date: 1990s-1995
In the early 1990s it was the home of Bull Electronics, manufacturing Circuit Boards. The brick building's facade by this time had been painted gray.
Date: 1995-present
In 1995 the building was restored to it's original brick facade and is now the home of Harvey Signs, Inc. manufacturers of signs and screen printing, brothers Donald and Richard Harvey, proprietors.
Date: future
Harvey Signs is hoping to open up 6,000 sq ft of business space for rent in Methuen. The City of Methuen is in a Planning stage exploring a number of strageties to improve the downtown area. Read more about this at http://www.methuenmasterplan.com/
